 Vision Point #3:
Incarnate the love of Jesus to those who are in need, less privileged, those near or far, and those that need to know Jesus.
Description of Vision:
What does Incarnate the Love of Jesus mean? It is our calling to offer others a taste of God’s amazing love! God the Father sent Jesus to this earth and He took on flesh, was incarnate, to show us in human form God’s perfect love. When we incarnate the love of Christ, we act on God’s agenda for our lives, rather than our own. We come to learn what it really means to love our neighbors as ourselves.
What would it look like if each of us lived out this vision of incarnating the love of Jesus?
- Do I really care about the homeless, the disenfranchised, the prisoner, the aged, the unsaved, and the person at the counter? How do I represent Christ’s love throughout my day to each person I see?
- Do I truly want to be about loving what Jesus loves….people? Praying, caring and sharing the love of Jesus with those in and outside my life.
- Do I care what’s going on in the world around me? I may not be able to go to another part of the world, but I can pray through the newspaper, encourage a missionary, support an orphan child or encourage our troops.
- Do I pray, care and share the love of Christ in my neighborhood? Do I make intentions to get to know my neighbors?
Opportunities:
- Holiday Tea :: Join us for our Holiday Tea on November 22 at the Hilton Hotel in Downtown Austin. Help share the love of Jesus by decorating a table, inviting guests and hearing a beautiful message to kick off the holiday season. Click here for more information.
- Serving in a small group :: This spring, we'll be encouraging our small groups to serve on one of our special women's service projects. It's thrilling to serve, but so much fun to do it with friends. Look forward for this service opportunity to "incarnate the love of Jesus."
