At Grace we offer membership as a means of adopting believers into the local church body that is Grace Covenant Church. It is a mutual commitment in which we commit to you and you commit to us for the purpose of nurturing and equipping the body for ministry.
- Step 1 – Attending the “Intro. To Membership” session
- Step 2 – Sharing your testimony of faith in Christ
- Step 3 – Attending the Membership Seminar (2 sessions)
- Step 4 – Committing to the Grace Doctrinal Statement and Covenant of Fellowship
NOTE: Before attending the “Intro to Membership” class, please sign and complete the Membership Information and Share Your Story sections of the application (click here to download the application) and submit it to Shirley in the church office.
Step 1 – Intro to Membership
This session provides a perspective on membership by explaining Grace’s Covenant of Fellowship and membership expectations. After this first session there will be a sign-up for “Sharing Your Story” (step 2).
Step 2 – Sharing Your Story
The testimony of faith is an encouraging time in which you have the opportunity to share how you came to trust Christ as your personal Savior before a “Listening Team” (comprised of regular Grace members). Feel free to read the Share Your Story section from your application aloud—that works too!
Step 3 – Membership Seminar
The membership seminar is led by one of our Executive Pastors and provides you with an overview of Grace’s Constitution and Doctrinal Statement. This seminar is composed of two sessions.
Step 4 – Grace Doctrinal Statement and Covenant of Fellowship
Upon completion of the membership seminar, you will be invited to commit to our Doctrinal Statement and Covenant of Fellowship, which emphasize your desire to be part of our family at Grace.
Summary of Expectations of Members:
1. Walk daily in love and obedience to Christ.
2. Support the efforts of this local church by your giving and participation.
3. Strive to mature in your walk with God, develop yourself, minister in your family, neighborhood, and work.
