See the World in a Whole New Light
Urbana is the missions conference for North American students hosted by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA and Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of Canada. Urbana 09 will be our 22nd conference. Generations of college students have come to Urbana to hear about cutting edge issues missions and respond to the call to participate in God's global mission. During the five days of Urbana participants will experience multicultural worship and drama, dynamic speakers, in-depth Bible study and prayer. They will also be encouraged to explore short-term and vocational opportunities as they interact with representatives from more than 300 mission agencies and educational institutions. Attendance at Urbana is usually around 20,000. Click here to visit the Urbana website.
Our own Equipping Pastor, Matt Henke, has this to say about Urbana:
“Right after Lisa and I got married we went to Urbana together. What a way to start our marriage! They told us it would be like drinking out of a fire hose, and they weren’t lying! They must have had every known missions organization under one roof. As we were considering what God might do with us, Urbana gave us every opportunity to be silent and hear God’s voice, to worship and celebrate what He is doing, and to listen and be inspired by God’s Word and His work around the world. For anyone who is considering where God might be calling them to serve, this conference is unlike no other.”
Is Urbana right for you?
If you are wondering this, please e-mail Tom Sanchez, Pastor of Global Outreach or call 345-7840. He is very happy to meet with you.
