 Dedicating a Child
The dedication of a child by the parents is the entrusting of the little one to the Lord for His protection and for His purpose. There are two elements in dedicating a child:
- The first is the parents’ pre-commitment to consistently teach their child the truth of scripture, and to live a godly life before their child.
- The second is the commitment of Grace Covenant Church to assist in the spiritual development of this child.
Although we refer to this as "baby dedication," parents may dedicate a child of any age.
Grace Covenant Church has been blessed with a great population of young families, and lots of babies! Grace Covenant has regularly set aside time in our Sunday-morning worship service to give families an opportunity to enter into this mutual commitment. We celebrate this special commitment on Thanksgiving Weekend, Right to Life Sunday (typically in January), and Mothers Day.
