Teacher Training

Whether you’re a veteran teacher or have never taught in your life, this class will provide you with the insight and skills to dramatically improve your effectiveness as a teacher.

Through this class you will not only hear and read some great stuff on teaching, but you will be given an opportunity to put it into practice. Through in-class and out-of-class labs, you will develop the skills that will help you clearly communicate God’s Word. Even if you never teach a Sunday school class or a small group, the skills acquired will make you more effective in communicating as a parent, spouse, or employee.

The Teacher Training course is comprised of three 6-week sessions. The cost for each part includes all class materials and dinner. Here is a summary of each part:

PART 1: “Bible Study Methods”

The goal for this part is to provide the student with the necessary skills to observe, interpret, and apply the biblical text correctly. Click here to download the syllabus for Part 1.

PART 2: “Text To Lesson”

The goal for this part is to provide the student with the basic skills necessary to move from the biblical text to a working outline for teaching a given audience. It assumes a solid understanding and proficiency of Bible study skills. Click here to download the syllabus for Part 2.

• Mondays, October 20 – December 1 from 6:30pm-8:30pm (off on Nov. 24th)

PART 3 “Making Dry Bones Live”

The goal for this part is to provide the student with the skills necessary to move from the teaching outline to the presentation to a contemporary audience.
