14-week Seminar Adult Community

parenting adolescents rollercoaster logoParenting Adolescents is a seminar for parents of teens that will focus on the challenges parents often go through in order to help their children grow into adulthood. It will include mentoring by parents who have learned these lessons and gone through the challenges already.

The seminar plans to address three parenting groups:

1. parents of pre-adolescent children who are intentional about having a roadmap for this chapter of life and are teachable through older parents who have learned valuable lessons
2. parents in the midst of this chapter of life
3. those who find themselves searching for answers now that this chapter has not worked out as originally assumed.

Attendees are expected to attend class regularly, as the topical lessons build upon one another throughout the fall, participate in group discussion led by mentors, and read a chapter per week from a book on parenting.

DATES: Sundays, August 24 - December 14
TIME: 10:30 - 11:40am NOTE: this is the same time that the youth will be meeting in The Attic
COST: $15/couple to cover materials and book

REGISTER:

Contact Laurel in the church office at 345-7840 to sign up. Please understand that the classroom size and mentor-to-parent ratio is defining for this seminar and will limit the number of parents who can attend this fall. A waiting list will be formed once the class has reached its limit.
